What is Kids Konsignment Sale?
Our sale is an event where families can sell and buy gently used children's items, like clothing, toys, books, furniture, and baby gear. It's a great way to save BIG on kids' essentials and find unique items. The sale is the primary annual fundraiser for Childhood Enrichment Center, a Greensboro preschool serving children ages 3 months through 5 years.
When and where is the sale held?
Our 2025 sale will be held February 27th through March 1st at 410 N Holden Rd. Greensboro, NC 27410
Who can attend the sale?
Kids Konsignment Sale is open to the public! We offer early access to consignors, volunteers, and VIPs, as well as special shopping times for first-time parents or grandparents. Please see the “Shopping” section below for more information.
What payment methods are accepted?
Kids Konsignment Sale accepts cash, credit, and debit cards. (There is a 3% charge for all card sales.)
Selling and Consigning
How do I consign items at the sale?
Sign up as a new consignor here. If you have participated in a KKS sale previously, you can use your previous login. You will just need to login and register for this sale (login - click menu button on the top left - click ‘register for our upcoming sale’ - check the box - confirm your information - sign the Seller Agreement). What types of items are accepted?
We accept gently used children’s clothing, toys (no stuffed animals), books, baby gear, nursery furniture, strollers and more. Our sale is ALL SEASONS, which means we also accept seasonal children’s items (bathing suits, snow boots, costumes, holiday apparel, etc.) year round. For a more detailed listing look here.
Are there any items that are not accepted?
We do not accept items that are broken, missing pieces, stained, ripped, heavily worn, recalled, or expired (like certain baby gear). We also do not accept maternity clothing, purses, or breast pumps and related materials. (for a full list of prohibited items please checkout out the consignment page.
Do I need to have car seats inspected prior to the sale?
We will provide you with a waiver to complete confirming the car seat has never been in an accident. We have a representative from the local fire department come in and inspect all car seats prior to the sale opening.
How much can I earn as a consignor?
Consignors earn 60% of their sales. You can earn a higher percentage if you volunteer with the sale: an additional 1% per hour volunteered, up to 70% of your total sales. Each consignor will have a $3.00 handling fee deducted from their total earnings.
How should I price my items?
Depending on the brand, items typically sell best when priced at 25-40% of their original retail value. Higher-end items or new items can be priced slightly higher. For a helpful guide please look here. You will also have the option to select if you’d like your item to go “on sale” at 50% off for the last day of the shopping event.
What kind of hangers do you accept?
While metal or child-size plastic hangers are preferred, we will accept any type of hanger. Please ensure all items are hung with the hanger facing to the left (like a question mark). If you need hangers, sometimes dry cleaners are willing to provide bulk metal hangers, or sometimes you can find some by posting in your local “Buy Nothing” Facebook group.
What is the drop-off process?
We will offer both daytime and evening drop-off times on Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25, as well as by-appointment the morning of Wednesday, February 26. Our volunteers will inspect all items during intake, and then consignors will be asked to transport their items to the sales floor. A map will be provided and volunteers will be stationed throughout to answer any questions.
What is the pick-up process?
Unsold items can either be picked up by the consignor (our volunteers will have all items sorted by consignor) on Sunday, March 2 or be marked for donation to local charities.
I don’t want to sell, but do you accept donated items for your sale?
Yes! Please contact us at kidssale@gmail.com to arrange a time to drop off. Our volunteers will gladly tag your items to include in the sale. All of the proceeds will go toward the fundraising efforts for Childhood Enrichment Center.
Volunteering
Can I volunteer to help with the sale?
Yes! Volunteers are needed for setup, during the sale, and breakdown. Volunteers receive perks like additional sale earnings (1% per hour volunteered, up to 70% of their sales) as well as early access shopping. A Signup Genius will be released in January; email kidssale@gmail.com if you’d like to be on the list.
Shopping
Are there any ways to gain access to early shopping?
Yes! We offer early shopping access for consignors, volunteers, first-time parents and grandparents, first responders, and military personnel/veterans. (checkout the shop page for specific times)
Can I bring a guest with me to my early shopping time?
Yes! Each consignor, first-time parent/grandparent, first responder, and military personnel/veteran is able to bring one guest to their shopping time.
Can I bring children or strollers to the sale?
Children and strollers are welcome at the Kids Konsignment Sale.
Will there be discounts or special deals?
Kids Konsignment Sale offers a 50% discount on select items on Saturday, the final day of the sale. Consigners have the ability to select what items they would like to be marked 50% off on Saturday when they tag their items.
After the Sale
How will I receive payment for my sold items?
Consignors receive payment via check to your provided address a few weeks after the sale. You will receive 60% of your total sales (+ an additional 1% per hour volunteered, up to 70%), less a $3.00 handling fee.
Can I get a tax receipt for items donated after the sale?
Yes. You will receive a tax statement reflecting the tagged price of your donated items to your registered email address a few weeks after the sale.
